Media Awards

Labrat

One of my favourite productions from media awards, was Labrat. I enjoyed the non-diegetic sounds played during the scenes as it really fitted in and created emotion and drama. It had a really clear narrative. I really liked the use of the close-ups and the and fade-out transitions. The way this production was shot looked very professional and the way it was edited didn't look messy. Furthermore, the use of the characters acting added drama and tension. The use of dim lighting at the end, also created a dramatic scene and helped engage the audience. Overall, this production was  shot extremely well and it had a well written narrative which was shown clearly to the audience.

The second production I liked was The Experiment. I enjoyed this, as it had a different sci-fi narrative, which was shown nicely. The beginning started of extremely intriguing had my attention from the very start. The use of the handheld camera work adds a sense of tension and drama. In addition, there was tracking shot as the character was running. The non-diegetic music played in the background, which was parallel to the scene adds to the theme of tension. The overall production, was very fast paced which helped keep the audience engaged. I liked the use of a monochrome theme as she was going over her memories, as it added emotion. The use of the characters expressions helped make the audience feel sympathy and emotion towards. Finally, I enjoyed this production as the narrative was well written out and the way it was edited and shot was done professionally.
